The Toronto Raptors are potentially going after 14-year veteran power forward, Drew Gooden.

After losing on free agent Pau Gasol to the San Antonio Spurs, the Raptors continue to try to find a player capable of starting at the power forward position. Gooden, who’ll be be 35-years-old in September, shouldn’t be the player the Raptors expect to fill that void. But, if last year is any indication of what’s to come, Gooden might be the next Luis Scola; a nightmare for Raptors fans.

In his long NBA career, Gooden has become one of the league’s most well known journeymen; having played for 10 different teams. Last year for the Washington Wizards, Gooden averaged 2.7 points on 32 per cent shooting from the field, and 2.8 rebounds in around 10 minutes of play throughout just 30 games.

If Gooden were to post the same numbers as last season, Raptors fans should expect Patrick Patterson to step up- whether he’s comfortable with the move or not.
