The Toronto Raptors continue their aggressive free agency push by making a move to solidify the interior by signing free agent centre Bismack Biyombo. The Raptors and Biyombo have agreed to a 2-year deal worth $6 million dollars. Snagging Biyombo on this deal allows the Raps to still bring in another quality free agent.

Biyombo was drafted 7th overall in the 2011 draft by the Sacramento Kings, but has spent his career with the Charlotte Hornets due to a draft day deal. Biyombo is still only 22 years old so there’s a ton of room for his overall development. Biyombo averaged 4.8 ppg 6.4reb & 1.5 blks. He’s extremely mobile for a big of his size and while his offensive ability is still raw; he’s capable of finishing at the rim.
Biyombo is an imposing interior figure standing at 6’9 weighing 245lbs. He excels at hitting the glass and protecting the paint. With the departure of Amir Johnson there’s a glaring hole inside, and a glaring need for the intangible skills that Biyombo provides. Lets hope Biyombo taps into his offensive potential while in a Raptors uniform.
