The Toronto Raptors led 58-57 in the 3rd quarter when there were about 7 minutes to go. It was the only lead the Raps had for the entire night.

The Raptors fell to the  Cleveland Cavaliers 105-91. The Cavs have now won 6 straight since their loss to Toronto a couple weeks back, and now sit at 11-7, with the Raps being 15-5.

It was an up and down game. Out of the gate, the Raptors trailed. They never let the game get out of hand, but Cleveland was in control for pretty much the entire contest aside from the third quarter run.

Offense: B-

Tonight was the first game that the Raps were missing  DeMar DeRozan‘s offensive presence. 40% shooting, 91 points, and 65% from the line isn’t going to cut it. The point distribution wasn’t good either, with only 3 players in double digits. Kyle Lowry scored 22 and dished 9 assists while  Amir Johnson scored a game high 27. The silver lining had to be Amir’s performance.

Defense: C+

Again, allowing 105 points is not good whatsoever. 30 points in the first quarter and 29 points in the last quarter isn’t going to allow you to win games. The struggles defensively are now becoming a serious concern. However, LeBron James is pretty good, and managed 24 points, 13 assists, and 7 rebounds. Hometown favorite Tristan Thompson also had a great game, scoring 21 points with 14 boards.

Rebounding: B-

The Cavs led the rebounding category 48-40. It was not a make or break, but the Raptors certainly didn’t take advantage of their size. Considering  Kevin Love and Thompson made up the front court for a significant portion of the game, you would want to see guys like  Jonas Valanciunas get more involved. Yet, JV finished with 2 boards.

Game Ball: LeBron James

Ok, fine. LeBron won this round. Game 3 is on Tuesday – expect a better game from the #6side.
