Canada Basketball released its training camp roster for the Team Canada Senior Men’s national basketball team for the summer of 2018:

Highlights of the team include Guards Jamal Murray and Cory Joseph leading the attack while experienced big men Kelly Olynyk and Tristan Thompson command the paint and perimeter.

There’s also been a look abroad as British Columbia’s Scrubb brothers, sharpshooters Kevin Pangos and Brady Heslip, and former Magic C Andrew Nicholson join the squad.

Raptors 905 show their strength as USports stars and back court partners Kaza Keane and Aaron Best join the training camp roster. Both look to cap for the senior team in future Olympic qualifiers.

Notable omissions include F Andrew Wiggins, G Nik Stauskas, and F Trey Lyles. The three were listed as unavailable, though will likely join the squad for future training and Olympic Qualifiers. Of the three, only Wiggins had a playoff run with his respective NBA team.

Needless to say, the Canadian Senior Men’s Basketball program is strong. Stronger than it has ever been to the point that some notable cuts will likely be made to make way for Wiggins and mainstay talents like Ennis and Stauskas.

Training camp will be held June 20-21 at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
