You knew only one of them would get in. DeMar DeRozan has been selected to the 2014 NBA All-Star game. DeRozan is more marketable, more well-known league wide, more likeable, and is the leading scorer on this team. There’s no doubt he deserved it.
Kyle Lowry was not selected despite the fact that he’s been arguably the best point guard in the East this season. I personally think he deserved it more than DeRozan as he impacts this team more. Huge snub, but not surprising – DD was basically a lock while Lowry was iffy because I didn’t think they would put in two Raptors. On the bright side, his value won’t be high enough to demand a ridiculous contract this offseason. It’s nice to have one Toronto Raptors All-Star.
