UPDATE: Stone will NOT be coming to Toronto because he failed his physical. The Raptors signed Dwight Buycks instead.
Masai Ujiri’s Denver Nuggets connection strikes again. The Toronto Raptors have signed point guard Julyan Stone to a two-year contract, with a team option on the second year.
Stone, 24, is a 6’6 PG that is strong, a fantastic defender, a mediocre shooter, solid playmaker, and an adequate third-string point guard. For those of you that haven’t heard much about him (including myself), here are some highlights.
The financial details have not been disclosed, however I cannot imagine it being more than a minimum contract. The bottom line is that this guy is young with room to grow, and he can’t hurt having as a third-string point guard. Ujiri brought the guy to Denver, and he’s now brought him to Toronto.
