Apologies for the late preview here. The Toronto Raptors are 12-2. That means they have won 12 out of 14 games thus far. I don’t know about you, but it’s a bit hard to process.
The mediocre Atlanta Hawks are in town. It’s weird going into games like this expecting as opposed to hoping for a win.
So Atlanta is 7-5, but the Raps took care of them on opening night. Here are the Cage’s Keys to the Game:
Contain the frontcourt
Paul Millsap and Al Horford are pretty damn good. This is definitely the opposite of the Phoenix match-up – this team is very strong up front. It will take a big effort from Jonas Valanciunas and friends to contain them.
Exploit the wings
The Hawks don’t really have good wing defenders. Kyle Korver? DeMarre Carroll is a decent defender, but does not have the quickness to stop the explosive DeMar DeRozan.
48 Minutes
I want to see this team play for 48 minutes. #WeTheFourth almost failed last game against Phoenix. Let’s see a consistent effort – the Raptors are the better team here. Play like it.
X-Factor – Captain Williams
Lou ‘the captain’ Williams is the x-factor here. Going up against his old team who traded him for essentially nothing will hopefully fire him up a bit.
