On a night where the Toronto Raptors honored our troops tonight, they failed to disappoint, coming away with a 94-89 W against the Minnesota Timberwolves. While this wasn’t the most appealing game in many ways, the Toronto Raptors found a way to come away with the victory, helping maintain their success at the top of the division.

Offense: C+

The Toronto Raptors shot just 43% as a team tonight, but that didn’t stop them from playing their game; that being, team basketball. Having a combined 26 assists, the Toronto Raptors shared the ball at will, continuing to express the likes of ball movement, which has been vital towards their recent success. The 3-ball was also a key in the Raptors’ win tonight, as they went 11-24 (46%). Lowry, Ross, and Amir Johnson all pitched in with fine offensive-performances, helping seal the game down the stretch.

Defense: A+

Since the offense wasn’t clicking on a consistent enough note tonight, this was a night where the Toronto Raptors  won this game on the defensive-end. Holding the Twolves to just 89 points total tonight (on 43% shooting), the Toronto Raptors were also able to contain Minnesota’s beasts on the interior, in Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic. Combining for just 29 points, on 13-31 shooting, the duo failed to have any impact tonight, and you can credit that to the Raptors’ defense.

Rebounding: B-

The Toronto Raptors won the battle of the boards tonight, 44-43, but that didn’t help them in the end result. Kevin Love didn’t explode for a huge game on the glass tonight, but still hauled in 12 rebounds. For the Raptors, it was Jonas Valanciunas that led the way on the glass, as he hauled down a team-high 11 rebounds in a winning effort. The Raptors had 3 other people with 5+ rebounds as well.

Game ball: Kyle Lowry

There was no doubt that Kyle Lowry was the best player on the floor tonight, as he proved exactly why he should be added to the list of All-Star reserves come January 30th. Leading the way with 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists, Lowry was both a general on offense, and defense. He also knocked down a game-high six 3’s, including one with under a minute to go, which happened to be the dagger.
