Today was a day of breakthrough’s. Raptors Cage has debuted, Terrence Ross found his shooting stroke, and most importantly, the Toronto Raptors finally snapped out of their funk.

The Raps took down the Dallas Mavericks, absolutely killing them by a score of 95-74, and to say they needed it was an understatement. The Raps have been playing awful, the Mavs have been playing great, and this really was a statement win for the Raps.

This one will boost everyone’s confidence. Taking down a red hot team without two of their best players brings the real question: was this a fluke, or was this really a breakthrough game for the Raptors?

The way this team played tonight shows their peak- especially defensively. Alan Anderson had a slow return, but once he gets up to speed he will help out on both ends of the court and the Raps perimeter defense will tighten up.

At this point, Dwane Casey has to get back to what he does best- get his team to defend. This was clearly on display tonight, and the Raps certainly have the personnel to be a good defensive team.

The schedule is easing up substantially at this point, with a long home stretch with many winnable games. Analytics show that the Raps have had the toughest schedule so far, and maybe a turnaround is due.

Only time will tell if the Raps can keep this momentum rolling. The Houston Rockets embarrassed the Raps a few games back in Houston, let’s see if the Raps can return the favor on Sunday

  1. Much prefer this to RantSports, where they automatically play an annoying video with sound on entry to the site.

You just keep nailing it Sachin, no matter the platform.
