At 42, Jasikevicius has coached Lithuania’s Zalgiris Kaunas since 2016. A veteran of both the NBA and the NCAA, Saras, as he’s affectionately known, brought a unique blend of experiences to Kaunas. Compiling a record of 38-40 while with Kaunas in the EuroLeague, most recently posting a 22-14 record.
It’s interesting to consider what Ujiri’s plans are with the intense Lithuanian manager. With the NBA Draft drawing nearer, the Raptors seemed primed to make their head coaching decision soon. While most of the news has focused on Toronto’s internal candidates, this interview comes as a surprise to most following the organization.
