The 2014-2015 Toronto Raptors ended their season by being embarrassed by the Washington Wizards, 125-94. Game 4 epitomized not only the entire series, but the latter half of the Raptors season: The offence was stagnant, with most of the players trying to play hero ball; the defence offered no resistance, and made the Wizards’ bottom-10 offence look like something out of the all-star game; and the team as a whole showed little fight against an opponent in their presumed weight class. Considering the way the Raptors started out the year, the finish was bitter and hugely disappointing. Hopefully next season is much more fulfilling.

Offence: D

The Wizards have a great defence, but the Raptors’ offence was supposed to be a perfect counter. As it turns out, the Raptors offence had their flaws exposed: They didn’t get the calls they so heavily relied on during the regular season, their attack was very isolation heavy, led by DeMar DeRozan and Lou Williams, and their was none of the movement that characterized their attack from last year. The Raptors have talent, they just need to make the pieces fit, and play together as a unit. Tonight, as well as the rest of the series, they failed to do so.

Defence: Z-

Don’t you dare mention hyperbole. If there was a letter after Z, you’d see it on your screen. The Wizards came into this series with a bottom-10 offence, yet they looked unstoppable. Terrence Ross in particular offered little resistance, an indictment of his game at this point. What a train wreck.

Rebounding: F

A clear advantage for the Wizards coming in, they burned the Raptors yet again on the boards. The Wizards outrebounded the Raptors by five, and only Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas were able to pitch in.

Player of the Game: Bradley Beal

With the possible exception of John Wall, Bradley Beal was the player of the series. He was a threat from beyond the arc, and he was a terror at getting to the bucket evidenced by his 11 appearances at the stripe. Beal made sure the Raptors season would end in bitter disappointment.
